Indian painter Murali Nagapuzha to display artwork in Muscat
April 3rd, 2011 - 4:25 pm ICT by ANIDubai, Apr 3 (ANI): An exhibition of paintings by the world renowned painter Murali Nagapuzha will be held from April 6, 2011 at the Indian Embassy Auditorium.
‘The Fiction of a Landscape’ will be open for public viewing on the 7th and 8th of April from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the venue, reports Gulf News.
Sayyid Tarik Bin Shabib Al Said, Special Adviser to His Majesty for Environmental Affairs will be the Chief Guest. The art exhibition will feature some of the best-known works of this highly acclaimed Indian painter.
The speciality of Murali Nagapuzha is his amazing ability to summon up the mindboggling natural beauty and diversity of his home state of Kerala - trees, shrubs, bamboo groves and weeds are the sitters of his portraits - strong and characterful, yet naive in execution.
Today, his works have been displayed as far away from his native India as Russia, among many other countries across the globe.
Murali Nagapuzha demonstrates masterful purpose in his manipulation of the scale of subjects within his various compositions. His purpose seems to reveal the distilled essence of nature as an unordered, hyper-realistic bounty of his home state.
He revels in the unruly and would rather prefer that the trees and plants that he so fondly picturises in his paintings organise themselves under the creative eye of the viewer, much like nature itself. (ANI)
