London, Nov 23 (ANI): A female teaching assistant has been jailed for 16 months after she had sex with two male pupils.

Hina Patel, 37, who worked as a classroom assistant and swimming teacher at the Birkdale High School near Southport, had sex with two 15-year-old male students, reports The Sun.
Both boys had a poor disciplinary record at school and one of them had juvenile convictions, the prosecution lawyer revealed in the Liverpool Crown Court.

Patel, a divorced mother of two, was employed to supervise ‘disruptive’ students at the school, but instead flirted with the two teenage boys and gave them her mobile number, the court was told.

She later lured the boys back to her home where she had sex with them within hours of each other.

She had sex with one upstairs in her bedroom and then with the other boy who stayed the night.

Patel admitted two counts of sexual activity with a child last month.

Judge John Rogers accepted the defence argument that Patel’s behaviour was ‘out of character’.

“I have no hesitation whatsoever in coming to the conclusion that these offences were so serious only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified,” he added.Patel, who was present in the court at the time of sentencing, dabbed her nose with a tissue as she was jailed for 16 months for each of the two offences, to be served concurrently.

She has also been banned from working with children under the age of 16, being alone in the company of children under the age of 16 - apart from her own children - and also banned from using social networking sites to contact children.

Patel was suspended from the school when the allegations came to light and has since been sacked. (ANI)
