New York, June 16 (IANS) An Indian origin man was found shot in the head in the front seat of his car here Sunday by a woman who claimed she had passed out in the back seat, the police said. Ravindranauth Bandhu, 35, a Queens resident from Guyana who had filed for US citizenship last year, was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police were questioning the woman in the car, and had made no arrests so far, The New York Times reported Monday.
Bandhu lived with his companion, Shabana Natasha Rampersaud, 33, in Ozone Park with their children from previous relationships and her parents.
According to Shabana, Bandhu went for a walk with a male friend Saturday evening. After he did not return till late, she repeatedly called his cellphone and a woman finally answered telling her that she had just woken up to find Bandhu bleeding from the mouth.
“Woman to woman, are you having anything to do with my man?” Shabana said she asked her.
No, the woman on the phone told her, she was just a friend.
Bandhu and Shabana ran a trade show company.
