Indian magician churns out new tricks to bring smiles on Malaysians’ faces
July 19th, 2009 - 2:48 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Kuala Lumpur, July 19 (ANI): An Indian lecturer-turned-street magician in Malaysia says that he keeps churning out new tricks all the time to gain the satisfaction he gets when he sees the smiles of his audience.
A.C. Vasanth, 34, has been at his mesmerising best at the KLCC over the past few days, performing his “number guessing” and “money changing” tricks.
He started coming up with innovative tricks as a hobby 10 years ago, and of late became a hit in India, which led to him hosting a popular TV show Kalanyar (Talent) in south India.
“Malaysian audiences are a bit conservative and they will only join my impromptu performance if invited. In the West, people just want to jump in and get involved,” the Star Online quoted him as saying.
Vasanth’s curiosity was triggered when he saw a magician performing tricks at an exhibition during his college days.
He revealed that he himself tried doing the tricks, and was able to perform them successfully.
“Everyone was surprised and clapped for him except me as I could decode his tricks,” he recalled.
He said that he approached the magician and performed the tricks for him.
Tehreafter, he recalled, he was introduced to another magician so that he could learn how to perfect the tricks.
When asked what was the toughest thing a magician had to do, Vasanth quipped: “It’s always when someone asks you: ‘How do you do it?’ This (question) just can’t be replied to.” (ANI)
