Indian killed in Nigerian terror attack
January 22nd, 2012 - 11:31 am ICT by IANSAbuja, Jan 22 (IANS) An Indian is among over 150 people killed in a terror attack in Nigeria’s northern city of Kano.
Kevalkumar Kalidas Rajput, 23, was killed, said the Indian High Commission in Nigeria.
Coordinated bomb attacks targeted security forces and gun battles broke out in Nigeria’s second-largest city of Kano.
A curfew was imposed in Kano after violence broke out Friday evening.
A person claiming to be spokesperson of Islamist group Boko Haram claimed responsibility, saying it was in response to authorities’ refusal to release its members from jail, a media report said.
