India under-16 footballers on a winning streak in US

Charleston (West Virginia), July 14 (IANS) India’s under-16 football team continued its winning streak with a 6-0 win over Tri-State All-Stars, their fourth win on the trot, at the Schoenbaum Stadium here. The team is on an exposure-cum-practice tour here as a part of its preparation for the final round of the Asian Championships in Uzbekistan, September.

India opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Malasawfela and Tirthankar Sarkar doubled the lead ten minutes later here Sunday. A. Raegan quickly put the match out of any possible reach when he stole a pass and put it past the goalkeeper in the 46th minute and in the very next minute Manan Deep’s goal gave India a 4-0 cushion.

Malasawfela scored his second goal after being set-up by Raegan in the 72nd minute and 12 minutes later Taranjit Kumar smashed home a cross from Lalrindika to complete the tally.
