India trail New Zealand by 250 runs

Hamilton, March 18 (IANS) India ended the first day’s play at a 29 without loss after bowling out New Zealand for 279 in the first Test here Wednesday.
At close, openers Virender Sehwag was batting on 22 and Gautam Gambhir on six at the Seddon Park. Earlier, Daniel Vettori (118) and Jesse Ryder (102) helped New Zealand recover from a poor start and get a challenging total on board.
