India draw second Test with New Zealand

Sachin Tendulkar Napier, March 30 (IANS) The second cricket Test between India and New Zealand ended in a draw at McLean Park here Monday.
India ended their second innings at 476 for four with a lead of 152 runs as both captains decided to call off the game an hour after tea on the fifth day.

V.V.S Laxman remained unbeaten for 124 while Yuvraj Singh was not out on 54.

New Zealand scored a huge 619 for nine declared in the first innings and bowled out India for 305, forcing the visitors to follow-on.

India denied the hosts an opportunity to level the series with Gautam Gambhir scoring a

match-saving 137 and vital contributions coming from Rahul Dravid (62), Sachin Tendulkar (64), Laxman and Yuvraj Singh.
