India concerned over Pakistan deal with Taliban: PranabFebruary 22nd, 2009 - 11:43 pm ICT by IANS
Kolkata, Feb 22 (IANS) India Sunday said Islamabad’s peace deal with the Taliban militia in the troubled Swat Valley of North West Frontier Province in Pakistan was a “matter of concern”.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said, “There should be no compromise with terrorist organisations like the Taliban.”
“Islamabad’s deal with Taliban is a matter of concern,” he said.
Mukherjee said Pakistan was still in the denial mode on cross-border terrorism. “We all know it.”
He said Islamabad was unwilling to hand over to India some of those terrorists arrested in Pakistan who were believed to have played a role in the November terror attacks in Mumbai.
