New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) India and China have signed an agreement to set up a hotline between the offices of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chinese premier Wen Jiabao, an official said Wednesday.
The agreement was signed in Beijing Tuesday between visiting Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
Krishna is on a four-day visit to China, during which he held discussions with Yang and called on premier Wen.
The agreement will operationalize the understanding reached between Manmohan Singh and Chinese President Hu Jintao last year to set up the hot link between the leadership of the two Asian countries.
