In-flight meals putting ‘thousands at risk’
June 29th, 2010 - 4:32 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, June 29 (ANI): Companies supplying food to the major US airlines could cause serious harm to the health of thousands of passengers every day due to unsafe and unclean practices, says a report.
According to a US Food and Drug Administration report obtained by USA Today, cockroaches and rats have been found near the food and the workers have a poor hygiene, reports News.com.au.
The report listed several violations of rules by companies that provide food to Delta, American, United, US Airways and Continental.
The unhealthy environments at LSG Sky Chefs, Gate Gourmet and Flying Food Group, can cause food-poisoning outbreaks and pose a major threat to public health. (ANI)
