Imran for end to war on terror
January 12th, 2011 - 6:24 pm ICT by ANIKarachi, Jan.12 (ANI): Former Pakistan cricket captain and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, has given three suggestions to steer the country out of the current crises, warning otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.
He said Pakistan should be pulled out from the American war against terrorism, otherwise the polarisation in the country and the society would increase.
Secondly, corruption should be rooted out and the ruling clique should present itself for transparent accountability, adding tax collection should be enhanced across the board, said Imran at “Meet the Press Programme” organised by Karachi Press Club on Tuesday.
He said that war against terrorism on the dictates of America had pushed the country at the threshold of destabilisation and polarisation, besides this so-called war had been turned into a war between Islam and anti-Islam forces.
He said that militancy had reached its peak due to continuous drone attacks. He feared that this tendency would spread to every nook and corner of the country.
Talking about rampant corruption, Khan said that corruption could not be rooted out until and unless the ruling clique presented itself for accountability. (ANI)
