‘I Like It’ Phenomenon On Facebook

breast_cancer_awareness_ribbonOct 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For all those who are wondering what the Facebook users are up to with the rather bizarre and provocative Facebook status messages that starts with ‘I like it..’, it might be rather disappointing to know that it is a part of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Since October is considered the Breast Cancer Awareness month, women all over have been asked to answer the question about where they like to keep their handbags. With some putting up status messages like ‘ I like it on the floor’ it is obvious which way the statements point.

Last year the campaign had caused quite a stir as women across the world put up colors as their status messages. While men and women unaware of the phenomenon wondered what ‘purple’ and ‘hot pink’ signified, it was in fact the color of their bra. Though there were many critics to the viral campaign to spread the awareness about breast cancer, many found the information rather amusing. With some women putting up ‘nothing’ as the SM, the phenomenon went on to become one of the cheekiest campaigns.

This years ‘I like it on..’ campaign on Facebook too has taken a rather provocative turn as some women have put up ‘I like it on Facebook’ and even ‘I like it on the kitchen counter’. The objective of th campaign is to raise awareness about breast cancer by bringing in the curiosity factor of the users. Although it is unclear so far how breast cancer and the handbag location is related, the campaign sure has taken off.
