Miami, Sep 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much feared Hurricane Earl lashed the northeastern coastal region of United States on Friday with a force lesser than what was being anticipated by the meteorologists just hours ago. While early on Friday it hit the southernmost tip of the Outer Banks where it resulted to some strong winds and rain causing flood at certain regions of the counties, late on Friday night it arrived with a much lesser speed to the northeast New England. Hurricane Earl has however, not yet exhausted all of its strength and as per the Hurricane Earl Update provided by the National Hurricane Center, it will be hitting the coast of Nova Scotia on Saturday.
Although Hurricane Earl gained speed rapidly during the first three days of the weeks and escalated to the Category 4 storm which many states declaring Hurricane watch at the coastal areas, on Thursday the maximum wind speed of Hurricane Earl declined and passed from a Category 4 storm to Category 2 storm. However, although the wind speed dropped from 140 miles per hour to 105 miles per hour, it was enough to bring heavy rainfall and storm at the Outer Bank. Though the coastal areas reported flooding, no damage or injury was reported.
On Friday night Hurricane Earl lashed the Cape Cod’s coastal area that consists of some fishing villages. However, with a wind speed of around 70 miles per hour, Hurricane Earl only produced wind-driven rain. Although Heavy winds blew over the part on Friday night, it was negligible to what was being anticipated just hours ago. It seems from present situation that Nova Scotia has now nothing to fear about the Hurricane Earl.
