Hungarian teenager withdraws from virginity auction
August 10th, 2010 - 4:53 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, August 10 (ANI): A Hungarian teenager, who sold her virginity in an online auction, had to withdraw, as the winning bidder - a British businessman - was asking her to marry him.
The 17-year-old schoolgirl, known only by the name “Miss Spring,” decided to take part in the auction in an attempt to stop her mother’s home being repossessed, reported croatiantimes.com today.
The teen, who lives in northern Hungary with her mother, said she has never had a boyfriend, but was looking for a “saviour,” not a husband.
The sale was closed down by online auction site eBay, but will be relaunched by a Hungarian television station this week.
The businessman had bid 100,000 pounds.
“I am just a girl who wants to have a better future, who wants to take care of her family,” news.com.au quoted her as saying.
“I think it’s actually quite romantic because the man who pays me this money will be helping to save my family,” she added. (ANI)
