‘Hot’ model sues app-maker, Apple for posting ’steamy’ pics on Internet
October 25th, 2010 - 6:04 pm ICT by ANINew York, Oct 25 (ANI): An aspiring model in the US has sued an app-maker and Apple for making her an international sex sensation on the Internet.
Rebecca Battino, 19, from Long Island, had taken the sexy self-portraits when she was 16 and they popped up in an online iTunes application called “eXtreme Cam Girls”.
She had no idea that the pictures she had taken of herself with a digital camera had spread like a virus to dozens of flesh sites across the Web.
In a 1 million dollar Manhattan federal-court lawsuit that accuses Apple and app-maker Samba Studios of copyright infringement, she claims that the steamy shots were swiped from her computer.
The application has since been removed from the iTunes store, but Battino is fuming that she hasn’t gotten any credit or cash for the shots.
“I was just upset that I’m not being paid for my pictures. I’m not embarrassed,” the New York Post quoted her as saying.
Battino alleges a shot of her in a plunging-down-to-there black swimsuit was the only icon advertising the eXtreme Cam Girls app on iTunes.
She refused to say how or who might have stolen the pics but insists Miami-based Samba Studios never tried to contact her to see if they could use the pictures.
Samba Studios and Apple did not respond to requests for comment on the suit, which was filed last week. (ANI)
