hcpNov 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Los Angeles witnessed Hollywood Christmas Parade 2010 on Sunday evening where hundreds of people flocked the streets to celebrate the gala event. The Hollywood community followed 3.5-mile route from Hollywood Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard which witnessed many celebrities as its participants. CNN veteran Larry King was the grand marshal of the event.

The other participants of Hollywood Christmas Parade included former “CHiPs” star Erik Estrada, “Dancing With the Stars” finalist Kyle Massey, Dick Van Dyke and Stefanie Powers. Even many of the cast members of Disney Channel like the actors of “Goodluck Charlie” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” were also present in the parade. The streets were closed early in the morning for the preparation of the parade and the Government granted special trains and also gave special transports for the common citizens’ benefit. There were about 70 celebrities and VIP guests who took part in the parade. Along with the celebrities there were 14 award-winning bands which included three bands outside California. Overall it was a show of felicity and fanfare as the celebrities of Hollywood made it a point to attract attention of all the commoners on street.

The city was decked up lights and colorful decorations from the morning for the grand evening. The live parade was taped for national broadcast and the media outlets reported that it will be shown on the Hallmark Channel on December 10. The Hollywood Christmas parade has faced many hardships recently like it was canceled in 2007 and on 2008 it received no television coverage owing to lack of publicity. However, this year the parade officials made it a point to attract viewers by inviting familiar faces of teen networks and also by adding musical acts.
