Nevada (US), Nov 16 (ANI): Hindus have welcomed Hollywood diva Pamela Anderson’s wish “to soak in Indian ethos” during her India visit to participate in popular television reality show “Bigg Boss”.
Prominent Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, hoped that Anderson would take back home some Indian ethos of abhay (fearlessness), ahinsa (non-violence), akrodh (freedom from anger), alobh (non-greed), apariggrah (non-possession), dan (charity), daya (mercy), dharm (righteousness), dhirta (fortitude), durdarshita (prudence), indriya-niggrah (continence), karuna (compassion), kshama (forgiveness), maittri (cordiality), mitahar (dietary moderation), prayashchitt (penance), samta (equanimity), sanyam (restraint), sattya (truth), sharirik anushasan (physical discipline), shraddha (faith), shuddhata (purity), sucharita (good conduct), tap (asceticism), titiksha (patience), tyag (renunciation), vairaggy (detachment), vinay (modesty), etc.
Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that if Anderson needed any help in exploring Indian ethos or spirituality further, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist.
“Big Boss”, in its fourth season, follows the “Big Brother” format. Filmfare winner Bollywood megastar Salman Khan (Tere Naam), 44, is the current presenter. Anderson is said to join the ten remaining housemates for an “unspecified time” near Mumbai, which include Bollywood actors, models, singer, former dacoit, and wrestler. British celebrity Jade Goody appeared in this show in 2008.
Thrice divorced/annulled MTV nominated Pamela Anderson (Baywatch), 43, is a Canadian-American actress-model-author-producer-former Playboy Playmate. She is vegetarian and an animal rights activist. (ANI)
