Hinduism discussion welcomed in rural Nevada
February 28th, 2011 - 4:08 pm ICT by ANINevada (US), Feb 28 (ANI): Well known Hindu statesman Rajan Zed spoke about religion in general and Hinduism in particular to a packed house of people belonging to different religions and denominations at “88 Cups Coffee & Tea” in Minden (Nevada, USA) on February 24 evening.
Audience, comprising of both older and younger seekers, including some atheists, had lot of questions in this talk and discussion event which lasted over two hours. Zed also talked about status of religion in the world besides explaining about Hinduism, its gods and goddesses, reincarnation and other concepts, etc.
Linda Finch of Shelby’s Book Shoppe, who organized the event, welcomed and thanked Zed.
Rajan Zed is one of the panelists for “On Faith”, a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post. He has been awarded “World Interfaith Leader Award” and is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, Senior Fellow and Religious Advisor to New York headquartered Foundation for Interreligious Diplomacy, Director of Interfaith Relations of Nevada Clergy Association, Spiritual Advisor to National Association of Interchurch & Interfaith Families, etc.
Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal. (ANI)
