In his police complaint, M. Kanagarajan, 27, alleged that he has been working in the temple in Kelana Jaya for the past two years, and was attacked by the temple council president’s son after he had asked for a raise on December 14.
The Star Online quoted him, as saying, that he was attacked violently and stripped of his vesti in the temple compound in full view of devotees.
Kanagarajan also said that he was promised a good pay with EPF and Socso deductions along with the necessary facilities when he was offered the job.
But he eventually was given only 600 ringgits without any deductions. As for the accommodation facilities, he was given a place in the store behind the temple.
His numerous requests for an increase in the salary and better facilities were ignored by the temple committee.
Kanagarajan said he was having lunch with some children in the temple when the president’s son came and accused him of impudence.
The president’s son got angry and started to attack and hit him violently until blood started flowing from his head.
People rushed to the temple when they heard the clamour, and saved him from the ongoing ordeal, according to his complaint.
“One of them sent me to a nearby clinic for treatment,” he recounted. (ANI)
