Highest bid for Ahmadinejad’s car is $2mn: Minister
January 17th, 2011 - 2:41 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can expect two million US dollars for his 1977 Peugeot, said Iran’s Minister of Welfare and Social Security Sadeq Mahsouli, according to a foreign news agency.
“We have different suggestions from many countries and the last received bid was two million dollars,” Mahsouli said.
The report mentioned that the previous bid belonged to an Arabian country citizen was one million dollars, reports English.news.cn.
Ahmadinejad’s car auction was announced in December last year by Ali-Asqar Parhizcar, managing director of Iran’s Arvand Free Zone.
“The Peugeot 504 (produced in 1977) belonging to President Ahmadinejad will be on a show of classic cars” in Iran’s southwestern city of Abadan, Parhizcar was quoted as saying.
Earlier in November, Iranian president said he wants to sell his car in an auction for charity to help a housing project. (ANI)
