Hiding in loo to escape nagging wives

London, Dec 28 (IANS) Which place do you prefer going to once you are irritated at home? Well, when it comes to Britons, half of them admit rushing to toilet to avoid their nagging partner, a study has found.

Fathers, trying to escape hyperactive children or wives on the warpath, are likely to be found taking time out in the toilet. Rather than using it for obvious purposes, nearly half admit they take sanctuary playing games on their phone, listening to sports commentary or relaxing to music, the Daily Express reported.

According to men in Britain, the bathroom is the only place where they can be sure of absolute privacy by hiding behind a locked door.

Twenty percent said they’d been told off for taking too long and over a third confessed they spend more time in the toilet than with their partner.

Raffaela De Vittorio, of Geberit AquaClean WCs, which questioned 2,000 people for the study, said: “The bathroom seems to be the last stronghold for guaranteed peace and quiet.”
