Haqqani network leader held in Afghanistan

Kabul, Nov 30 (IANS) A leader of the Haqqani network was detained in Afghanistan Wednesday, Afghan forces and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
The leader, whose name was not disclosed, was arrested in Pul-e Alam district of Logar province, 60 km south of Kabul, Xinhua reported citing a NATO press release.
The man conducted attacks against NATO troops and distributed weapons throughout the area.
The Haqqani network is the military wing of the Taliban operating in Kabul and the eastern provinces along the border with Pakistan.
