Jakarta, Jan 23 (Xinhua) The Islamic Hamas is not broken by the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, a Palestine official said here Friday.Sammi Abu Uzair, a special envoy of the Palestine prime minister, said the Hamas still holds the power in Gaza and is not broken by the three-week-long Israeli bombardment, which began Dec 27.
Uzair made the remarks after meeting Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Hidayat Nurwahid and House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Agung Laksono at the parliament building here Friday, the Antara news agency reported.
Hamas’ military wing remained solid and vows to keep fighting against Israel, he said. “Hamas would continue its struggle and fight against Israel,” he added.
Palestine needed more humanitarian aid, he said.
The envoy said at least 1,330 people have been killed and 5,450 others wounded in the Israeli attacks. Around 4,000 houses were also destroyed in the conflict, he added.
