Gujarat Congress blames Modi government for blastsJuly 26th, 2008 - 11:51 pm ICT by IANS
Ahmedabad, July 26 (IANS) Holding Chief Minister Naredra Modi’s government responsible for failing to prevent the serial blasts in Ahmedabad Saturday evening, Gujarat’s main oppositon Congress said no alert had been sounded despite a similar terror attack in Bangalore the previous day. “The Gujarat government has failed miserably on the law and order front,” state Cogress chief Siddharth Patel said, adding that the terror attack pointed to the “total failure” of the state’s intelligence machinery.
He said the law and order situation in the state had been steadily deteriorating and recalled the killing of two children at the Asharam Bapu ashram here earlier this month, the gang rape of a Dalit college student at Patan in north Gujarat earlier this year and other crimes.
