Columbia, June 27 (ANI): Jenny Sanford, the wife of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who has admitted to an extramarital affair, has said she had warned him not to travel to Argentina to visit his mistress.

“He was told in no uncertain terms not to see her,” Jenny said.

According to the Politico, when Mark Sanford informed his wife that he would be leaving the state, Jenny had strictly warned him not to visit the woman in Argentina and said she was shocked to find out that he had.

Following reports of Sanford’s governorship being put into doubt by extended disappearances, the First Lady of South Carolina said Mark’s career is no more of any significance to her.

“His career is not a concern of mine. He’s gonna have to worry about that, and I’m going to worry about my family and the character of my children,” she added.

Earlier, after having been absent from South Carolina for several days, Mark had admitted to an adulterous affair with a woman from Argentina identified as Maria Belen Chapur.
