Shanghai, April 25 (IANS) A nine-year-old girl, who was abducted in China and then forced to beg, was reunited after 35 days with her parents who said “she was so scared that she was crying all the time”.

The girl, Tingting, was reunited with her parents in Jiangsu province.

“She was so scared that she was crying all the time,” Shanghai Daily quoted her mother Li as saying.

“She refused to be hugged and wouldn’t allow anyone to touch her.”

She said Tingting was covered in dirt as the traffickers had not allowed her to take bath.

“Although she was much thinner than before, we recognized her first glance,” her father Peng said.

“Fortunately, she didn’t get hurt during her 35-day nightmare.”

The girl went missing Feb 24 when Peng and Li were working at a train station.

The media report said that surveillance tapes showed the girl being dragged by a man.

The girl was taken to Zhejiang province and forced to beg in front of a fast food restaurant. She was made to beg from early in the morning till late at night.

She was rescued after a local became suspicious and tipped-off the police.
