London, Oct 23 (ANI): A giant photograph of revellers at this year’s Glastonbury Festival has become the world’s most “tagged” photo.
The photo is the official new holder for the unlikely world record of Most People Tagged In An Online Photo.
Since the picture went live on June 29, more than 8,000 have looked at the picture, found themselves, and have tagged themselves through Facebook.
The photograph, which was taken to celebrate the festival’s 40th anniversary, took place at the famous Pyramid Stage during half time in the England vs Slovenia World Cup match on the first day of the event.
Over 70,000 festivalgoers were captured on a 1300 megapixel super high-resolution photograph.
Users were able to zoom in, out and around the image with a full 180-degree view, with people in the back of the field visible up to 300m away.
After the festival, they were then able to zoom into the picture, tag themselves, find friends and reconnect with people they met during the match.
The panoramic image was taken with two Hasselblad H4D-50 Cameras mounted one on top of the other and rotated at 10 degree increments to take in the entire crowd, going back 350 metres.
“We are delighted that together with over 7,000 festival goers and counting, we’ve been able to set a new Guinness World Record,” the Daily Mail quoted Andrew Pearcey, Head of Brand Partnerships at Orange as saying.
“Glastonbury’s 40th Anniversary combined with England’s World Cup match was clearly going to be a landmark moment, which we wanted to celebrate and capture for people to look upon and say ‘we were there’.
“Looking at the sheer numbers who have tagged themselves in the photo and knowing it is both a unique and shared experience is truly fantastic,” he added. (ANI)
