Agra, June 11 (IANS) A German tourist was given a tea laced with sedatives and robbed of all his belongings in a train. The German man, Gabriel, and his girlfriend were travelling from Varanasi to Agra when the robbery occurred. “An Indian cheat drugged him by offering tea, while I was asleep. When I got up he was in an unconscious state and was barely able to speak,” Sandro, the victim’s companion, told railway police here.
Gabriel was admitted to the district hospital after Sandro lodged a complaint at the railway police station at the Agra Fort railway station.
The incident occurred in the Marudhar Express. The 29-year-old from Berlin and his girl friend planned to see the Taj Mahal and other monuments during their stay in Agra.
