German girl takes to show jumping with cow after she is denied horse
April 6th, 2011 - 1:51 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 6 (ANI): A teenager in Germany, who was denied a horse by her parents, decided to fulfil her dream of riding by using a cow.
Regina Mayer, 15, started show jumping with Luna the cow, after hours of training and jumping over makeshift hurdles of beer crates and logs.
“She thinks she’s a horse,” Sky News quoted Mayer as saying.
Mayer, who lives in Laufen, southern Germany, began with gentle walks in the woods before introducing Luna to a saddle. A few months later she hopped onto the cow’s back for the first of many rides.
Now they spend most afternoons together when Mayer comes home from school.
In return for show jumping and galloping exercises, Luna is rewarded with regular grooming and treats. (ANI)
