Washington, Apr.7 (ANI): Nearly one in six Americans think Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is determined to stay in power.

According to a Fox News poll, 57 percent of voters think Gaddafi is determined to stay in power and only 26 percent think Obama is committed to remove him.

Despite President Obama’s prime-time address to the nation on March 28, 61 percent of the voters say the administration has failed to explain its goals in Libya. Fifty one percent of the voters disapprove of Obama’s handling of the situation in Libya.

Forty two percent of those participating in the poll, however, approve of what Obama is doing vis- a- viz Libya.

Sixty two percent oppose US military involvement in Libya, while 77 percent have rejected the idea of arming Libyan rebels.

Sixty three percent describe US intervention in Libya as being different from what it has been of Iraq. Fifty four percent think it would be wrong to describe Washington’s move as an act of war.
The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 914 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from April 3 to April 5. It has a sampling error margin of plus or minus three percentage points. (ANI)
