‘Frustrated’ England cricket team blames Qantas for late arrival at Adelaide
November 30th, 2010 - 5:24 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Nov 30 (ANI): The England cricket team was stuck by Qantas’ ongoing plight this morning after their flight was delayed, which eventually resulted in delaying the team’s arrival in Adelaide by an hour and a half.
The team was scheduled to leave Brisbane for Adelaide on QF661 at 8.25am (AEDST), but the plane was grounded due to a hydraulic fault. They eventually left Brisbane at 9.35am.
Following the incident, English bowler Jimmy Anderson posted his frustration on Twitter, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
“Flight has been delayed due to a mechanical problem with the plane. I would rather them change aircraft than say it will take 20 minutes to fix,” he wrote.
The paper quoted a Qantas spokeswoman as saying that the fault was only minor and added: “We apologise for the minor delay.”
The latest problem occurred less than 24 hours after the delivery of up to 400 pieces of luggage around Australia was delayed when stray rock-climbing rope jammed key equipment in Melbourne. (ANI)
