French honour for former UAE navy officer
June 30th, 2011 - 12:51 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, June 29 (IANS/WAM) France has honoured a retired officer of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy with the National Order of the Legion of Honor, one of the highest honours given by the country.
Rear Admiral (retd) Ahmed Al Sabab Al Tunaiji was given the honour in recognition of his efforts to bolster UAE-France military cooperation.
French Ambassador to UAE Alain Azouaou presented the honour at a ceremony held at the French embassy in Abu Dhabi in the presence of top UAE and French navy and army officers.
