Free Brisbane guide for foreign students has dictionary on Aussie slang

Melbourne, Aug 19 (ANI): A free guidebook of Brisbane includes a dictionary of the commonly used Aussie slang for international students.

The inaugural Brisbane Insider Guide 2010-11 that comes with an Australian slang dictionary will be distributed free to international students.

Some of the common slangs explained in the book are-

Bloody oath - I certainly agree

Cark it - to sleep or expire

Cranky - in a bad mood

Crook - to be unwell or not right

Banana Bender - a person from Queensland

Dag - to be dressed poorly

Dero - to be uncouth

Duffer - idiot

The guide also includes information on how to ride a bike and how to stay on the right side of the law while studying in the River city, reports The Courier Mail.
