Four killed in raid on Al Qaeda leader’s house
March 1st, 2010 - 5:26 pm ICT by IANSSana’a (Yemen), March 1 (DPA) Four people including two policemen and a suspected arms dealer linked to Al Qaeda were killed in a police raid in southern Yemen Monday, the interior ministry reported.
The ministry said in a statement that police forces raided the house of Ali Saleh al-Yafeyee whom authorities accuse of having Al Qaeda links in Zinjibar city, the capital of Abyan province.
Al-Yafeyee and one of his bodyguards were killed in a shootout during the raid, the ministry said. Two policemen were also killed and a third was injured in the firefight.
