Four fined for naked dip in Bahrain sea
January 6th, 2011 - 9:24 pm ICT by IANSDubai, Jan 6 (IANS) Four Bahraini men have been fined after they were caught without clothes, taking a dip in the sea in a buff. The men told police that they took off their clothes to avoid getting them wet while they took a dip in the sea at Al Jazaer beach, 40 km south of the capital city of Manama, Gulf News reported Thursday.
However, onlookers were not amused and called the police who arrested them.
The prosecution charged them with engaging in immoral behaviour in public and fined them 50 Bahrain dinars ($132) each.
“We just left work and did not have swimming suits. But, we were really keen on swimming, so we took our clothes off,” the men said while explaining themselves.
