Yangon, Feb 19 (Xinhua) Four bombs have exploded in the border town of Tachilek in Myanmar’s eastern Shan state, the official newspaper New Light of Myanmar reported Tuesday. There were no casualties in the explosions Monday. The first bomb went off before dawn near the Paradise Hotel in Tachilek, damaging the hotel’s staff quarter, while three bombs exploded near a teashop at five-minute intervals, the report said.

The incident took place two days after the authorities warned against more possible sabotage in the country in the wake of bomb blasts earlier this year. The authorities are investigating the case.

There have been a number of bomb blasts in Myanmar since January this year. On Jan 11, a suicide bomber blew herself up near the Pyinmana railway station in the new capital of Nay Pyi Taw.

On the same day, a second blast at a football ground in the Bago division killed a man and wounded three women and a child. Two more bombs exploded in Yangon Jan 13 and 16.
