Former Dutch pilot jailed for spying for Russia

Moscow, Dec 15 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A former Dutch pilot has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempting to sell confidential documents to a Russian diplomat in the Netherlands.
A district court in The Hague said F-16 pilot Chris Vaneker tried to contact the military attache at the Russian embassy, according to Radio Netherlands Worldwide.
Vaneker wanted $670,000 for the information.
A veteran of 13 years in the Dutch air force, he has been in custody since March. He resigned in 2010 after serving in Afghanistan.
Russia is yet to make any comment.
