Fonda denies breaking up with GillisJune 24th, 2008 - 1:55 pm ICT by IANS
London, June 24 (IANS) Oscar winning actress Jane Fonda has denied rumours that she dumped Lynden Gillis, saying she wants to spend more time at the New York home they share. The 70-year-old “Barbarella” star sparked rumours that she had ended her year long romance with the 76-year-old retired businessman when she criticised “older lovers” while hinting she was looking for love again, contactmusic.com reports.
She said: “I want someone who is not only a great lover but who is also an old soul. Older men seem to think they are riding the crest when they decided to cash in and take it easy once they have hooked up with me, which becomes a burden and a bore.”
However, Fonda, who has been married thrice, said she wasn’t talking about Gillis when she made the remark.
She said: “I worry about rarely being there with Gillis, since a good lover and friend is so hard to come by, and you don’t want to lose him by default. When you are too busy for love, you are too busy, period. I have to admit that my love life is suffering from travel fatigue, since my hectic schedule leaves little time for romance.”
