Five Pakistani militants killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, Nov 8 (IANS) Five Pakistani militants have been killed in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province by the Afghan National Police (ANP), the provincial government said.
Another Afghan militant was also killed in the same operation.
“The ANP, during routine patrol, spotted six armed militants, including an Afghan and five Pakistani nationals, when they were planting mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along a road in Sayahchoi village of Zhari district Sunday night,” Xinhua quoted the government as saying in a statement.
Police also seized a handful of weapons near the scene, it said.
The Taliban announced an offensive from May 1 against Afghan and NATO-led troops.
