Ranchi, July 10 (IANS) Five Maoist rebels were arrested from Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand Thursday, the police said. According to the police, the five activists of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including two hard-core rebels, were arrested from the Hazaribagh bus stand following a tip-off.
The arrested rebels include Nageshwar Dangi and Ramu Yadav, who were suffering from ‘brain malaria’ and were coming to Ranchi for treatment.
Maoist rebels are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state. In the last seven years more than 1,200 people, including civilians and rebels, have been killed.
