Five injured in Russia blast

Moscow, Oct 24 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Four policemen and one woman were injured Sunday in an explosion in the Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, an official said.

“An explosive device exploded around 11.20 a.m. near a police car in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya,” a spokesman for the investigative committee said.

“One female civilian and four policemen were injured,” he added.

Violent attacks are common in North Caucasus republics, especially Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, with militants frequently targeting police and officials.
