Ferguson wants Giggs to play for Man U for two more years

London, Nov. 29 (ANI): Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Ryan Giggs to continue playing for his club for another two years. Fergie’s backing for the Welshman came after he struck his 100th Premier League goal on Saturday.
Last year’s PFA Player of the Year converted a free-kick in the 4-1 victory at Portsmouth, and was asked to put off his retirement plans.
Giggs recently celebrated his 36th birthday but is showing no signs of easing up.
“Happy Birthday to Ryan. He’s had it 36 times times in his life, wait until he gets to 67. I think he’ll be retired by then. He’s an exceptional player. A rarity. He will play for two years yet,” News of The World quoted Ferguson, as saying.
Ferguson was delighted with the result, and Wayne Rooney’s hat-trick, but annoyed to concede a penalty when Nemanja Vidic tugged Frederic Piquionne’s shirt.
“First of all, it’s a great result for us because 4-1 away from home is always something you are pleased with. Some of the football was good. In the second half we kept our discipline very well and kept possession of the ball very well and deserved it in the end,” he said.
“The linesman has put the referee under terrible pressure for their penalty and he has to listen to the linesman who is 50 yards away.”
“If you are saying everyone who wrestles at a corner or tugs at a jersey concedes a penalty kick then that’s fine. But it doesn’t happen that way and this linesman has changed the whole course of normal decision making,” he added.
“So it was a very disappointing result for us to get a penalty against us in that situation.” (ANI)
