Female teacher in Wales ’shared shower with girl pupils’
November 4th, 2010 - 5:57 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 04 (ANI): A music teacher in Wales has been accused of inappropriate behaviour after she shared a shower with girl pupils and sent more than 1000 text messages to one.
Debbie Lloyd-Jones, 36, who was music department head at the 600-pupil Oakdale Comprehensive School in Blackwood, Gwent, allegedly had improper relationships with girls aged 13 to 16.
The hearing was told Lloyd-Jones bought teddy bears, perfume and jewellery for girl pupils at her high school, and that she sent two teenage girls messages by text and online saying that she loved them.
The disciplinary panel was told she stripped off after school musical show to share a shower with some of her pupils.
“Mrs Lloyd-Jones showered and involved in inappropriate behaviour while pupils used the showers,” the Daily Mail quoted Huw Roberts, presenting the case against her, as saying.
“There may have been some horseplay and they splashed each other with cold water. There is no suggestion of sexual connotations.
“She asked the pupils to conceal these gifts from their parents,” he stated.
Lloyd-Jones is facing the hearing by the General Teaching Council for Wales where she denies inappropriate behaviour with pupils. (ANI)
