“Faith Forum” of a Pulitzer winner newspaper to be lead by Rajan Zed
February 7th, 2011 - 12:38 pm ICT by ANINevada (US), Feb 7 (ANI): Notable religious statesman Rajan Zed will coordinate “Faith Forum”, a weekly dialogue on religion of a Gannett publication in Nevada (USA).
Zed, who has been bestowed with “World Interfaith Leader Award”, will lead a panel of leaders of various religions and denominations to produce a weekly discussion Forum in Pulitzer Prize winner Reno Gazette-Journal (RGJ), involving important religious issues affecting the area-country-world.
Panelists include: Brother Matthew Cunningham (Roman Catholic), Dr. Thomas Butler (United Methodist Church), R. Bruce Brinkerhoff (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), Dr. Sherif A. Elfass (Islam), Reverend Phil Bryan (Buddhist), Rabbi ElizaBeth W. Beyer (Jewish), Ben Aleck (Native American), Dr. Bradley S. Corbin (Baha’i), Dr. William Tell Gifford (religion professor).
Rajan Zed says: Religion is complex. Religion is powerful. Religion is much more than our own particular tradition. There are interconnections and interdependencies between religions and there are differences. If we dig deeper, we shall find that we have more in common than in conflict. This is a column for constructive dialogue. We hope that this dialogue effort would bring us more mutual understanding and trust and loyalty.
RGJ, whose traces go back to 1870 and which has been recognized for its journalistic excellence, is one of the leading newspapers of Nevada and produces various other print and online publications. Ted Power is President and Publisher while Beryl Love is Executive Editor.
McLean (Virginia, USA) headquartered Gannett is an international media and marketing solutions company connecting communities through multiple platforms including Internet, mobile, newspapers, magazines and TV. Craig A. Dubow is Chairman and CEO. (ANI)
