New York, Dec.4 (ANI): Golfing great Tiger Woods apology to his family and fans for his past sexual indiscretions, will not pass muster, feel experts.
According to CBS, while the authorities have declared the case closed with a simple moving violation, Woods profound apology, which appears on his web site, on allegations of infidelity could test the loyalty of existing sponsors.Woods has indirectly accepted that he has cheated on his Swede wife Elin Nordegren by having affairs with cocktail waitress Jammie Grubbs and New York-based nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel.
Life and Style magazine reports Kalika Moquin, a Las Vegas nightclub executive, has been carrying on an affair with Woods for months.
Woods said he had “not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves.”
Both are reportedly in “intense marriage counselling.”
Marketing experts feel that Woods might find new deals hard to come by, as a result.
“If he says silent between now and this January, the next tournament that he’ll play in, there’s just going to be quadruple number of journalists there waiting to hear what he says and everything’s going to be building up for it,” Kathleen Hessert, president of public relations firm Sports Media Challenge, told CBS’ “The Early Show” Thursday.
“I think it’s ridiculous to wait until January because it just draws it out even further,” she added.
Uchitel now says it was one of her text messages that caused the fight between Woods and his wife.
Forbes estimated earlier this year that Woods was the first athlete to surpass a billion dollars in career earnings, more than 80 percent of that coming from endorsements with companies such as Nike, Gillette, Gatorade and AT and T. (ANI)
