Ex-Penthouse stripper sues Scores for using her image
April 7th, 2010 - 7:03 pm ICT by ANINew York, April 7 (ANI): A former stripper has filed a lawsuit against Scores, saying that she never gave consent for her pictures to be used on their billboards.
Nicole Hughes, who peeled off her top at the Penthouse Executive Club, claims she was duped into posing for billboards for Scores, and as a result, her “integrity as an adult entertainer” was tainted.
“I was riding in the back of a taxi minding my business looking out a window and, boom, there I am, massive in my underwear for Scores,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.
“I about fell out of my seat,” she said.
Hughes said she was “shocked” to recognize herself alongside two Scores stunners on a billboard proclaiming, “The fun is back!” and she now wants her ex-bosses to pay.
“There’s a difference between dancing in a small area at a club and having your scantily clad picture put on a billboard for all New York to see,” her lawyer, Matthew Blit, said.
The suit, filed April 6 in Manhattan Supreme Court, charges Hughes was “forced” to take part in the May 2008 photo shoot and “misled” into thinking her pictures would be used only for the Penthouse club.
“I was really disappointed because I loved working at Penthouse as a dancer,” she said.
The suit claims Hughes suffered “severe emotional distress” from the unauthorized use of a picture of her in a skimpy getup.
“She was forced to take these pictures and she never gave anybody consent to use her image,” Blit, of Levine & Blit, said.
“She was told she would never again work for Penthouse unless she took the pictures,” Blit stated.
In exchange for posing, the suit says Hughes was supposed to be paid 4 dollars - one-fifth of a 20 dollar lap dance.
She got stiffed on the measly sum, Blit said, then was further disgusted when friends saw her plastered around town last November.
“I felt so betrayed,” Hughes said.
“How could they do all that and not even tell me?” she added.
The two high-end skin palaces are owned by real estate honcho Robert Gans, who last year bought Scores’ W. 28th St. location after it closed following a prostitution bust.
