Ex-Miss Russia in fake prescription case jailed
May 4th, 2011 - 1:59 pm ICT by ANILondon, May 4 (ANI): The former Miss Russia, who has been in the news for forging prescriptions, has been jailed after she repeatedly showed up late to evaluations for a drug court programme.
Anna Malova, 39, has been sent to a New York City jail, and a judge has ordered that she be held without bail at least until the evaluations are done, the Telegraph reported.
Malova has pleaded not guilty to filling or trying to fill bogus painkiller prescriptions at New York pharmacies 14 times over the last 18 months.
If approved for the programme, she would get treatment and could ultimately get those charges dismissed. (ANI)
