European Parliament president invites Indian American Hindu priest

- New York, Nov 22 (IANS) Indian American Hindu priest Rajan Zed, who created history last year by reading a Hindu prayer in the US Senate, has been invited by European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pottering for an interfaith dialogue.Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, said is a statement that the meeting with Pottering has been scheduled for Dec 10 in Brussels.
This year is being observed by the European Parliament as the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, as part of which religious leaders from various parts of the world have visited the parliament and met its leadership.
Zed said he intends to discuss issues related to Hinduism with Pottering and have an interfaith dialogue. He would also meet other leaders of the European Parliament, which comprises of 785 elected members from 27 countries.
Zed has recited Hindu prayers in the assemblies of several US States.
