Escondido, Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) San Diego authorities burned down a bomb house located in the city of Escondido on Thursday after the officials reached the conclusion that the removal of the extensive amounts of explosives from the house would just be too dangerous. The fire was triggered in the house on late Thursday morning and soon the entire building was engulfed in the blaze destroying the structure into a mere framework. According to San Diego officials, the torching of the house took place as planned and it was confirmed that the explosive material present in the building was incinerated without sparking any kind of explosion.
While talking to journalists on Thursday after the house was burned down, Jan Caldwell, a spokesperson of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department stated that the worst of the situation is over and its unlikely that anything poisonous is still left in the charred debris. It has also been reported that the officials will be going through the ashes of the building while making sure that there are no toxic substances present in the house. Meanwhile, the man who rented the Southern California house is under police custody for allegedly attempting to make bombs from the large amount of explosives that were discovered in the house.
The San Diego authorities took the decision to burn the house down as owing to presence of huge volume of explosion, it was considered to be too dangerous for bomb squads to retrieve the volatile material. Torching the house was the only way by which the explosives inside it could be destroyed without any hazards, officials felt.
